Inserting a new page in an exact location.

You can insert a new page anywhere in the Table of Contents (TOC) sequence.

You cannot insert a page while you are in page edit mode. Ensure you are in Document Click on the page that you want to insert a page before or after. Ensure you have navigated to the page from where you wish to insert another page.

Changing the position of a page

  1. You can change the position of a page in a document at any time using the Table of Contents (TOC) reordering tools.
  2. To move a page towards the front of the document click the Move Page Up arrow once. The page will swap positions with the page above it.
  3. To move a page towards the back of a document click the Move Page Down arrow.  The active page will swap postions with the page below it.

Each time you click on the arrow there will be a slight delay as the page database is re-sequenced. If your pages have some form of section numbering, you will have to use the Publishing Center to regenerate the numbers for the Online and eBook document Versions. The print version will always correctly renumber itself as long as the counter tags are in place and have not been changed by any editing process.

Deleting Pages

You can delete a page at any time. Once deleted, a page cannot be retrieved so use this operation carefully and thoughtfully. When a page is deleted its existence is deleted, including its edit/revision history. Consider moving a page to your clipbook before deleting in case you want to undo the decision later.

  1. You must be in Document Edit mode to delete a page. You cannot delete a page while you are in Page Edit mode.
  2. Make you are in page management mode and ensure the page you want to delete is selected in the Table of Contents navigation pane.
  3. From the document toolbar, click Delete Page. You will be given a warning dialogue and comment box.
  4. If you are working in a team environment it is generally both useful and courteous to insert a comment as to why the page has been deleted, and any other business surrounding the decision to delete the page.
  5. Click OK. This confirms the page will be deleted. Remember the page deletion action cannot be undone, so use it carefully and with consideration.
