Font Scheme Selector Map

Understanding and customizing the font scheme selector map to your house vocabulary and considerations

11.1 Overview

The Font Scheme Selector Map can be customized and uploaded on an IGP:Digital Publisher Account basis.

That means each account can have its own customized Font Scheme Selector which uses house terms.

By default IGP:Digital Publisher uses contemporary digital content terminology and does not apply arcane print terminology. However specific users may prefer to use their own house-style vocabularies. Because all publishers use "same-but-different" terminology it is not possible for Infogrid Pacific to provide a single grammar that will satisfy all.  Therefore the Font Scheme Selector Map can be customized.

You will have to also customize the Font Scheme Map to make sure the Selector grammar matches your custom grammar.

The default Font Scheme Selector Map is listed below. This can be copied, edited and uploaded into font manager.

11.2 Uploading a Custom Font Scheme Selector Map

  1. You must have Account Administrator priveleges.
  2. Login to IGP:Digital Publisher.
  3. From the Administration Panel open IGP:Font Manager 2 by clicking on the  options bar.
  4. From within FM2, click the Classification options bar.
  5. From the top toolbar, click Font Scheme Map. This will open an upload form.
  6. Navigate to your prepared Font Scheme Text file and then click OK.

11.3 Considerations

This is designed as a one-time start-up customization change that can be made.

If you change the Font Scheme Selector Map after creating font-schemes there will be issues if you re-edit font schemes created with a previous Selector Map.

The Font Scheme Selector Map uses the INI text formatting. It represents the second and third selector in the scheme map.

[Term]This is a primary option that displays in the second (middle) selector.

1:Term This is the sub-option for each primary option that displays in the third (right) selector.

Items will appear in the sequence defined by the numbers. The numbers do not appear. It is strongly recommended that the items are created in a correctly ascending numerical order.
