Getting Started - Publisher

Before you can start distributing digital content you must configure your account completely and correctly. This page is a guideline to the topics in this User Manual you will need to understand and follow before distribution activities can start.

Configure your account

This interface has the following four business interfaces. Please read each topic and set up the options correctly.

1. Publisher ONIX Information  This has a special block where your business metadata is entered. This information is used in all ONIX deliveries. This must be entered fully and correctly.
2. Manage Users You can add and remove users. All users can carry out all actions.
3. Account Details Maintain your general business contact information.
4. Controlled Vocabularies This contains forms that allow you to define lists of any Series, Imprints and Keywords you may have. These will then be available on the ONIX Form. 

Configure your Global Options

You will need to set up your Global Options in the following sequence:

1. Channel Configuration Here you select from the list of available distribution channels and configure connection information for a channel.
2. Currency Rules This is where you set your currency conversion from your base currency to other currencies that are required by the channels you select. This must be done. The defaults cannot be trusted due to currency fluctuations.
3. Rights Profiles If you are using the ONIX Form to create book records you should take the time to set up appropriate rights profiles.
