Interface Overview

The File Processing Alerts screen notifies you of any problems with the files you have uploaded into IGP:Distribution Manager.

The purpose of this is to ensure that a distribution event is successful. Distribution Channels take many days to process submissions. If a submitted file causes a rejection, it delays your books from getting to the market. Checking at upload time rather than later in the distribution processing cycle is the best method to ensure clean and error free distribution events.

File Processing Alerts

The types of file processing alerts are:

  1. Invalid ONIX file: When you upload ONIX files they must be valid and well-formed. The application checks the files against the Editeur DTD. If your file is incomplete in any way it will be rejected. You will receive a notification of that here.
  2. Invalid Spreadsheet: If your spreadsheet is not a valid file for any reason it will be rejected. You will receive a notification of that here. Note this is a corrupt file check, not a check of the contents of the spreadsheet. Content conformance issues are notified in the Conformance Warning interface.
  3. Invalid ePub: The ePub is checked against the latest ePub check version. If it does not report as valid for any reason it will be rejected. You will receive a notification of that rejection here.
  4. Undersized cover files: Generally cover files are required to be submitted at a minimum size of approximately 1500 pixels on the longest side at 300dpi. If your cover in pixel dimensions are smaller than this and the resolution is less than 150dpi then the cover will be rejected.
  5. No matching ISBN: If a file that is uploaded does not have an ISBN match in the system metadata, the application will not be able to associate it with the database record.

Your action on receiving a file processing alert is to check the file and re-upload it into the system. The file input processing system deletes files that have any problems and retains no records other than the rejection audit log event.
