Update Patch Release Notes
The following updates have been implemented in this release
Publishers around the world are working hard on their Accessibility (A11Y) processes. Especially education and academic publishers who have books with a lot of images. IGP:Digital Publisher now makes that easier to publish highly optimized A11Y books and for publishers to do the same for their back-list books as well.
In the previous version of Digital Publisher, the alt-text for images had to be entered manually for each image. Manually entering data for multiple images can be quite time consuming.
We have now implemented a feature that allows the user to bulk update the alt-text for images and summary for tables.
This feature is best for books that are already digitized and the alt-text and summary attributes need to be updated or inserted.
Two new buttons are made available in the Content Tools > Image alt-text and Table summary processing
Content Tools > Image alt-text and Table summary processing > Download XLSX - Downloads a spreadsheet with following columns:
The Identifier column contains the image filename for img tag and table id for the Table with summary attribute. The other fields are useful information to locate the content within the document.
User can update the Alt Text/Summary column to enter a new value or modify an existing value.
Content Tools > Image alt-text and Table summary processing > Browse - User can select the modified XLSX file
Content Tools > Image alt-text and Table summary processing > Process XLSX - User can click this button to upload the modified XLSX file to server. The application then updates values to the DP document.
The data is updated to the database only if there is a change to the attribute values of content. A Page history event is recorded prior to updating the section data to the database.
The Writer also displays a summary of the sections updated by the process.
TIB Interface - The Slider on the tracking window was not displaying. This is now fixed.
Kindle format had extra space inserted for the Inline Styles after span. This is now fixed.
